| HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Ohkay, so I'm a day late... but whatever, lol. Wow... I cannot tell you how badly I needed this break. It's too bad though, that teachers see breaks as an extra opportunity to load you up with homework! By Monday I have a wonderfully long paper on Emerson due... (still have about 3 more of his essays to read, lol) and Tuesday I get to dress up as Henry Clay (woah, sexy man) and debate over the succeding of the union with the rest of my class. Haha, what an interesting week this is going to be... | | |
| MAMMOTH!!
Wow, such a crazy week... it's taken me this long just to find time to get all the pictures together and finally post them from the trip! But oh my gosh... so incredable. Mammoth is the most beautiful place all times of the year! It's too bad it's so cold, or I'd definitally move up there! lol. (Oh, and the fact that the beach is no less that 6 hours away... that could get annoying too, haha.) But our trip was wonderful... and here's just a few of the many great things we did.

Me and Jaclyn, the first day before snowboarding lessons!

Me, Amanda (our snowboarding instructor) and Jaclyn right before our lesson

One of the few successful pictures taken inside our cabin... our bunk bed was right by the door in the living room, lol. (Weird place for a bed!)

And here we embarked on our 2nd day of snowboarding!

Another shameless photo op....
And here's a few random pictures of me snowboarding:

(aaaahhhhh!! lol)

Aaaand Jaclyn Snowboarding:

And these next few shots, go with a little story. ...Jaclyn and I were on our second day ever snowboarding, and decided to go on a lift with my dad. The first day we pretty much mastered "Sesame Street," (hey, don't laugh!) so we decided that we were ready for a little bit more of a challenge. (And by that, I mean instead of no hill, just a tiny, mild one.) So we take this chairlift that was supposed to lead us to "easy street," but instead went to the TOP of the mountain! Oh, and did I mention in a white-out? ...And in case you (like me) didn't know, chairlifts go up... but not down. So we were stuck. We had the choice beween a diamond ("expert") or a square ("difficult") run, so obviously we took the easier one... and wow. Quite an experience to say the least... lol. So here's a few pictures before we "embarked on our perilous journey," haha.

As Jaclyn put it, "the last picture you'll see of us alive" lol

hahaha, and yeah... another little story. So Jaclyn's knees began to hurt, and she couldn't get down the hill standing anymore. So she invented a new sport which we officially deemed, "butt boarding". It's too bad we didn't get any better pictures... but it was so freaking hilarous, seeing this moving haze of snow shooting down the hill, with jaclyn hanging on for dear life, covered in snow and ice, haha. So here's the other picture we attempted to take... note the snow spray, and me barely being able to stand up on my board from laughter. (Oh, and this is at the very bottom of the hill where it was WAY flatter BTW... lol.)

...And the final product. Note the snow covered gloves and jacket, and the icicles forming on the tips of her hair, haha.

So at the end of the day we said goodbye to Mr. Mammoth...

And after the long crazy events of the day, we rested our muscles in the jacuzzi.

(You can tell it was REALLY cold outside because of all the steam, lol.)

Heh... yeah, and this leads me to our next little story... lol. That mark you see is the remainder of Jaclyn and my snow angels that we made on the snow-covered pool deck. Only thing is, we were in bikinis when we jumped into the snow and made them... lol. Yeah, cold. But we got $20 each out of it! haha, so it was totally worth it . (My dad didn't think we would, so we proved him wrong now, didn't we! )

Snow angels... haha. (And check out those deep footprints... it was SOOO hard to get out! Oh my gosh!)

So all that excitement made us hungry... and the last picture I have, is of us at dinner, at the BEST italian restaurant I've ever been to, lol.
And that's only 1/2 of the trip! lol. (But I'll save you the pain of the rest. ) So congratulations if you ACTUALLY made it through all that... and don't forget to let me know whatcha thought about everything! (Translation: gimme a wave or 2! )
So I hope the rest of your pre-thanksgiving week goes well... and I'll talk to y'all soon!
Much Always, Shell

| Eh... lazyness, lol. Gadda love it.
Yeah, so I've really wanted to update ya the past few days... but unfortunately my lazyness got the best of me, lol. So finally I have a sudden burst of motivation for some non-apparent reason... I guess we'll see what comes out of it! lol.
So, this week... GAH, THANK GOD IT'S OVER!! I seriously couldn't stand another day of tests, lectures, and sitting in class staring at the clock, calculating approximately how many more seconds I have left in the period. (Heh... think Spanish class.) Wow, it's amazing sometimes how one class can seem like it lasted 5 minutes, while another, close to 3 days. *sigh* Oh, and tests this week were crazy! I had 2 the same day - AP US, and Math Analysis, and they both sucked, lol. Well, the AP US DBQ (lol, if all these acronyms are getting you confused, ignore me lol) wasn't that bad... but everything else was.
But it's the end of the week!! (YEEAH, and it's only Wednesday! Par-tay!) And I am so excited... I get to go snowboarding over this whole 4 day weekend! (I'm leaving tomorrow around 11 or noon.) It's gonna be so awesome... I'm goin up to Mammoth with my dad, and Jaclyn! Hehe, we've never snowboarded before, so I predict alot of falling on our butt, and the occasional face plant.... but hopefully since Jaclyn and I surf we'll pick it up fairly quickly. Ahhhh, wish me luck! lol
Oh, and advance warning: (Mammoth trip + Camera) / Dad taking pictures x Jaclyn and me taking pictures too = At least a million and 1/2 good pictures of our trip gaurenteed to be taken, and therefore a whole bunch of pictures in my next post.
Wow, did that even make sense?
ANYway... it's way too late, and I need to get sleep, so that I will be ready to... sleep in the car on the 9hr drive up ... yeah, lol. But seriously, I do have to go. So leave me some love while I'm gone! (A.K.A comment) And I hope your 4 day weekend is gonna be as awesome as mine.... haha. jk
"I am thankful for weekends, so I don't have to go to school!" lol (Story behind that quote... if you know it, lol.)
Much Luv Always!~

| Who loves Fridays? I DO!
But anyway, today was great... just another crazy Friday. Not too much in Math... bio we were studying DNA, (using pretzles, cheeze-it's, and fruit loops as a model... don't ask) and I made lincoln logs out of the pretzles and made a mini "pretzel log cabin!" haha, I should have taken it a picture... it was awesome. (Not the assignment... lol, but awesome nonetheless.) And then History... we had and hour and 1/2 of pure lecture, and then finished like 10 minutes early (THANK GOD!) So we had the chance to let out our energy and just goof around for the last few minutes of class. Haha... and something especially funny came out of it too ! As Bondi and I were talking (like, 2 of the most facially expressive people, lol) Conor decided to take a few random pictures on my phone of Bondi during our convo... and they turned out really funny, lol. Okay, so today's lil featurette...
The Many Faces of Bondi! (And other history class pictures)
mmmmm, fond memories... lol
ooooohhhhh, German Chocolate Cake!!
Oh my gosh, NO WAY!
eeeewwwwwwww... that is horribly disgusting... (don't forget the English accent)
hehe, Milessa who sits in front of me... leaning back to say hello
And Lauren and Bondi just goofing off (Bondi looks scared at being attacked, lol)
The funniest part about all these pictures though, is none of them were posed... they were just candid shots taken during our expressive conversation. (Which was about food, ballet, and other random topics of that sort, lol.)
Thank God for friends... or my life would be really dull, lol.

| Shrek 2 Comes out Tomorrow!!
Heck yah! (Come over and watch it with me! lol) But I'm so excited, lol. That is one of my favorite movies . (Okay, shut up... I know I'm a dork, haha.)
But more on today... after school mom + Marie decided to go bike riding down at the harbor, so I brought my homework to go finnish by the seaside (As shown below...)
And wow, it was soooo beautiful down there too! Here's the view from where I was sitting:
(yeah, the sun was really bright... if you couldn't tell, lol.)
Oh, and another random picture of me down at the harbor where I was sitting... wow, I love the beach so much
But overall, I got...a little done, lol. I gave up on my stupid math homework, and instead read more in my Emerson book off essay's + poems, which is actually really good. Here's a few of my favorite pieces of insight:
"The wind and the waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators. So are the sun and moon, and all the stars of heaven."
"We are taught by great actions that the universe is the property of every individual in it. Every rational creature has all of nature for his dowery and estate. It is his, if he will."
Definitally some deep wisdom there
So other than that... the rest of my school day was actually really fun. I got to read a story in English, (The Crucible, Act III) hear a story in Spanish (Our sub told us really cool Mexican ghost stories) and watch a story in Musical theater. ( Oh my gosh, "Bang Bang Your Dead" is sooo good... wow. It seriously, almost made me cry.) Oh, and tomorrow for "Peer Panthers" I get to go present a giant stuffed panther to the teacher with the best decorated door for "Peace Week," and I get to be on KVHS! Yah! lol. (That's our school's TV station.) So overall a good day. And guess what... Tomorrow's Friday! YEEEAHH!
Well g'nite... and talk to ya soon
